Postgres data agentAsk in words. Get the numbers.

Mention it in a Slack channel with a question. It writes a read query, runs it on your database and replies with the answer and the query it used.

Ask your Postgres database: starts On mention, uses Postgres, Slack.

Ask for it once, in plain words.

No flowchart to draw. Describe the job in chat. TulipFarm sets up the agent and its workflow, and shows you both before anything runs.

You

In #data, when someone mentions me with a question, answer it from our Postgres database. Read only. Show the query you used.

TulipFarm

I made an agent called Data helper and attached it to #data. It reads Postgres through a Custom MCP connection, and you choose read-only tools. Replying in Slack asks you first. Activate it?

One question, start to finish.

Every run is saved as an agent task you can open, check and rerun.

What gets planted.

Three parts you own and can change at any time.

  1. Agent

Knows which tables to use and how to word an answer.

  2. Skill

    Answer format

The number first, then the query, then limits.

  3. Workflow

Runs when someone mentions the agent.

Asks you first

  • Posting a reply in Slack

It uses your own connections, so it never sees more than you can.

Grow it your way.

  • Read-only user

Connect with a database user that can only read. The database enforces it.

  • Allow some tables

Give the agent a view with only the columns people may see.

  • Save good queries

Keep answers you trust in a table to reuse.

Questions, answered.

How does the agent reach Postgres?

Through a Custom MCP connection. Postgres is not built in. You add its MCP server, choose how to sign in (none, OAuth or API key), and review each tool before an agent can use it.

Can it change data?

It is meant to be read only. Use a read-only database user and review the tools, so writes are not possible.

How do I know the answer is right?

It shows the query. A person who knows SQL can read it and check.

Ask once. See the query.
