I made an agent called Mention tracker and a daily 9:00 schedule. It reads Gmail and web search through a Custom MCP connection. Posting to Slack asks you first. Activate it?

Questions, answered.

How does it search the web?

Through a Custom MCP connection. Web search is not built in. You connect an app with an MCP server, choose none, OAuth or an API key, and review each tool before an agent can use it.

Can it read my alert emails?

Yes, using your own Gmail connection. It looks only at the senders or labels its instructions name.

Is this the same as brand monitoring?

It is the same idea aimed at rivals. For your own name, see the brand monitoring agent.

No rival news gets past you.
