Data agentAsk a question. Get a number.

Mention it in Slack with a plain question. It looks in your sheets and, through a Custom MCP connection, a read-only database, then replies with the answer and how it found it.

No flowchart to draw. Describe the job in chat. TulipFarm sets up the agent and its workflow, and shows you both before anything runs.

You

When someone mentions you in Slack with a question about orders or signups, look in the Orders sheet or the database, and reply in the thread with the answer and how you got it.

TulipFarm

I made an agent called Data helper and attached it to your ops channel in Slack. It reads Google Sheets and your Postgres database through a Custom MCP connection, read only. Posting the answer asks you first. Activate it?

One question, start to finish.

Every run is saved as an agent task you can open, check and rerun.

  • A database, through a Custom MCP connection
  • The Slack thread

Asks you first

  • Posting the reply in Slack
  • Changing any sheet
  • Running anything that writes to the database

It uses your own connections, so it never sees more than you can.

Grow it your way.

  • Save the question

Log each question and answer in a table for later.

  • Make a chart sheet

Offer to add the result to a sheet you can chart.

  • Limit the tables

List the only tables it may read.

Questions, answered.

How does it reach the database?

Through a Custom MCP connection. You add the MCP server, choose how it signs in, and review each tool. Choose read-only tools.

Can it change my data?

Only if you give it a tool that writes, and every write asks you first. Read-only is the safe start.

Can I trust the number?

It shows the method and any rows it left out, so you can check it. Treat it like a quick analyst, not a final report.
