Where TulipFarm differs

Four differences that show up in one invoice follow-up job, each with a note on how Copilot handles it.

  • Records live in tables, not in spreadsheets

    TulipFarm

Agents update built-in tables, and field rules reject wrong types, missing values, unlisted choices and duplicates.

    How Microsoft Copilot handles it

Cowork sends emails, creates Word, Excel and PowerPoint files and posts in Teams across your Microsoft 365 apps.

  • Each approval covers one exact change

    TulipFarm

On actions you pick, the agent shows the exact change, and approving it doesn’t approve the next one.

    How Microsoft Copilot handles it

Cowork asks before sensitive actions, and a user can skip the prompt for similar actions for the rest of the session.

  • Your chats stay yours

    TulipFarm

Workspace admins can’t open your personal chats or private agent tasks.

Questions about TulipFarm and Microsoft Copilot

Which Microsoft Copilot does this page compare?

Microsoft 365 Copilot, the business offering, including Copilot Chat and Cowork. The consumer Copilot app isn’t covered here. We compare Copilot Studio, Microsoft’s agent builder, on a separate page.

Is TulipFarm a Microsoft Copilot alternative?

Yes, for teams that want shared records, agents and workflows in one workspace without a Microsoft 365 plan. TulipFarm stores records in built-in tables, and for the actions you choose, an agent shows the exact change before a person approves it.

What is the main difference between TulipFarm and Microsoft Copilot?

Copilot works across the Microsoft 365 apps and files you already have. TulipFarm gives your team its own workspace with tables, files, agents and workflows. Each approval covers one exact change, and admins can’t open members’ personal chats.

Can TulipFarm do everything Microsoft Copilot can?

No. Copilot works inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, uses Edge on your device through Cowork, and comes with Microsoft’s identity, audit and retention tools. TulipFarm connects to Slack, GitHub, Google and Atlassian rather than Microsoft 365, and has no SSO or SOC 2.

Can admins read Copilot chats?

Yes. Microsoft says admins can use Content search or Microsoft Purview to view and manage stored Copilot interactions, and set retention policies. In TulipFarm, workspace admins can’t open members’ personal chats or private agent tasks.

When should I just use Microsoft Copilot?

Choose Copilot if your team already works in Microsoft 365, wants help inside Office apps and Teams, or needs Microsoft’s compliance tools. If you already pay for an eligible Business plan, Copilot Chat costs nothing extra.

How much does TulipFarm cost compared with Microsoft Copilot?

Your first TulipFarm Cloud signup includes $50 in free credits. Paid plans aren’t public yet; see the pricing page to ask for more credits or apply for student, NGO or startup support. The Copilot Business add-on costs $21 a user a month paid yearly, or $25.20 paid monthly, on top of an eligible Microsoft 365 Business plan, with a first-year offer of $18 a user a month through 31 December 2026. Cowork also needs usage-based billing.

Does TulipFarm work with Microsoft 365?

Not directly. TulipFarm connects to Slack, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Trello and each person’s Google account. To move work across, export your Excel sheets as XLSX or CSV and import them into a table.
