TulipFarmvsFreshservice

A Freshservice alternative for business records, not IT

Freshservice runs IT incidents, assets and changes for employees. TulipFarm runs the business records, approvals and agents your whole team shares.

Where TulipFarm differs

Four differences that show up when the work is paper stock and orders rather than laptops and incidents, each with a note on Freshservice.

  • Business records, not IT assets

    TulipFarm

Stock and orders live in built-in tables, and a required field stops a half-filled row from saving.

    See Tables

    How Freshservice handles it

Reader nodes pull records from custom objects into workflow conditions, beside tickets and assets.

  • The approver sees the exact change

    TulipFarm

On the actions you pick, the agent shows the old and new values and waits for a person’s OK.

    See Agents

    How Freshservice handles it

Workflow Automator sends approval emails, such as to a reporting manager, then branches on the answer.

  • Agents for the work you define

    TulipFarm

Saved agents follow your skills, run as often as once an hour, and ask before the actions you pick.

    How Freshservice handles it

Freddy AI Agent answers employees in Slack, Microsoft Teams, email and the portal, on the Enterprise plan.

  • Stock checks on a timer, with a code step

    TulipFarm

A workflow can run every few minutes, total stock in a Python step, then wait up to 30 days for a teammate.

    See Workflows

    How Freshservice handles it

Orchestration lets workflows call actions in third-party apps, with a monthly transaction allowance per plan.

When to stay with Freshservice

Freshservice is the better choice if any of these sound like your team.

You run IT on ITIL processes
Freshservice covers incidents, problems, changes and releases. TulipFarm has no IT service management.
You track hardware and software assets
Freshservice has IT asset management and a CMDB. TulipFarm doesn’t discover or track devices.
Employees ask for help in Teams
Freshservice ServiceBot works in Microsoft Teams and Slack, with a self-service portal and service catalog.
You need SSO on every plan
Freshservice includes SSO on all four plans, with audit logs on Enterprise and a SOC 2 Type 2 report on request.

Moving business work out of Freshservice

TulipFarm can’t import Freshservice tickets, assets or workflows. Keep Freshservice for IT and move one business job that ended up there.

  1. Find the non-IT job

Pick a request that isn’t really IT, such as reordering paper stock or approving a supplier order.

  2. Bring the records in

Save the records that job uses as CSV or XLSX and import them into a TulipFarm table.

  3. Rebuild the approval

Rebuild the steps as a TulipFarm workflow, and have it wait for the person who approves today.

  4. Run both for one cycle

Compare the results before you switch. Your first signup includes $50 in free credits.

Questions about TulipFarm and Freshservice

Is TulipFarm a Freshservice alternative?

Not for IT service management. TulipFarm has no incident, problem or change management, asset tracking, SLAs or service portal. It’s an alternative for business work that has ended up in an IT desk, such as stock or supplier approvals, run on shared records with agents and workflows.

What is the difference between Freshservice and Freshdesk?

Both are Freshworks products. Freshservice is for IT and employee service: incidents, assets and changes. Freshdesk is for customer support: tickets, a customer portal and SLAs. TulipFarm replaces neither; it runs your team’s records, agents and workflows.

Can TulipFarm run approval workflows like Freshservice?

Yes, for business records. A TulipFarm workflow can wait up to 30 days for a teammate and resumes after a restart without repeating finished steps. On the actions you pick, an agent shows the exact change before a person approves it. Freshservice Workflow Automator runs multi-approval workflows on all four plans.

Does TulipFarm have an AI agent like Freddy AI Agent?

Partly. TulipFarm saved agents follow your skills on shared records and answer @mentions in Slack channels you grant. Freddy AI Agent answers employee requests in Slack, Teams, email and the portal, on the Freshservice Enterprise plan.

When should I just use Freshservice?

Choose Freshservice if you run IT with incident, problem and change management, track assets, or want employees to raise requests in Microsoft Teams. It’s also the better fit if you need SSO and a SOC 2 Type 2 report.

Can I move Freshservice workflows to TulipFarm?

Not automatically. Rebuild one job at a time: import its records from CSV or XLSX into a table, rebuild the steps as a TulipFarm workflow, and run both until you trust the result.

How much does TulipFarm cost compared with Freshservice?

Your first TulipFarm Cloud signup includes $50 in free credits. Paid plans aren’t public yet; see the pricing page to ask for more credits or apply for student, NGO or startup support. Freshservice Starter costs $19 per agent a month billed yearly, Growth $49 and Pro $99.
