TulipFarmvsMicrosoft Copilot Studio
Build agents without Microsoft Copilot Studio’s tenant setup
Copilot Studio builds agents inside Microsoft’s cloud. TulipFarm keeps records, files and agents in one workspace, and a person approves changes you pick.
Where TulipFarm differs
Four differences that show up when a small print shop handles reprint requests, each with a note on how Copilot Studio handles it.
Start without a Microsoft tenant
TulipFarm
Sign in with Google or an email link and start. No Azure subscription or Microsoft 365 plan.
See ProjectsHow Microsoft Copilot Studio handles it
Microsoft’s pricing page states that an Azure subscription is required to use agents.

TulipFarm
Reprint requests sit in a built-in table. Field rules stop bad values before they save.

Structured data lives in Dataverse. Agents can search Dataverse tables once an admin turns on Dataverse search.

TulipFarm
On actions you pick, the agent shows the exact change and waits for an OK in TulipFarm.

A request for information pauses a workflow and asks people for input through Outlook only. It can’t reach anyone outside your tenant.

When to stay with Microsoft Copilot Studio
Copilot Studio is the better choice if any of these sound like your team.
- Your company runs on Microsoft 365
- Copilot Studio agents work in Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot, under the Entra ID and Purview controls you already use.
- You need far more connectors
- Copilot Studio lists 1,500+ prebuilt connectors and MCP servers, and its agents can operate websites and desktop apps.
- You need formal compliance today
- Microsoft covers Copilot Studio under SOC and ISO programs and a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement.
- Customers talk to your agents
- Copilot Studio publishes agents to websites, social channels and mobile apps as well as internal tools.
Switching from Microsoft Copilot Studio
TulipFarm can’t import Copilot Studio agents or flows. Move one job at a time and keep the Microsoft version running until you trust the new one.
Pick one job a small team owns
Choose a job that doesn’t depend on Teams or other Microsoft apps, such as reprint requests.
Export the records
Export the data the agent uses, such as a Dataverse table, as CSV or XLSX. Import it into a TulipFarm table and add field rules.
Rewrite the agent’s instructions as a skill
Copy the agent’s instructions into a TulipFarm skill, then choose which actions need approval.
Run both for one cycle

microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365-copilot/pricing/copilot-studioQuestions about TulipFarm and Microsoft Copilot Studio
Is TulipFarm a Microsoft Copilot Studio alternative?
Yes, for small teams that want records, files, agents and workflows in one workspace without setting up a Microsoft tenant. Copilot Studio is the stronger fit for companies already on Microsoft 365 and Azure.
Is this page about Microsoft Copilot, the assistant?
No. This page compares TulipFarm with Microsoft Copilot Studio, the low-code tool for building agents and workflows. Microsoft Copilot, the everyday assistant, is a different product.
What is the main difference between TulipFarm and Copilot Studio?
Copilot Studio builds agents on top of Microsoft’s cloud, with data in Dataverse and 1,500+ connectors. TulipFarm keeps records in built-in tables beside the agents and workflows that use them, and you choose which actions need a person to approve the exact change.
Do I need Azure or Microsoft 365 to use TulipFarm?
No. You sign in with Google or an email link. Microsoft’s pricing page says an Azure subscription is required to use Copilot Studio agents.
Can TulipFarm do everything Copilot Studio can?
No. Copilot Studio has far more connectors, agents in Teams and on websites, computer use for websites and desktop apps, SSO through Entra ID, Purview audit logs and HIPAA coverage. TulipFarm doesn’t offer those today; it keeps records in tables with field rules and lets a person approve the exact change.
Can workspace admins read my chats in TulipFarm or Copilot Studio?
In TulipFarm, workspace admins can’t open your personal chats or private agent tasks. Copilot Studio saves chat transcripts that compliance managers can view through Microsoft Purview.
How much does TulipFarm cost compared with Copilot Studio?
Your first TulipFarm Cloud signup includes $50 in free credits. Paid plans aren’t public yet; see the pricing page. Copilot Studio sells packs of 25,000 Copilot Credits for $200 a month per tenant, with a pay-as-you-go option, and Microsoft 365 Copilot costs $30 per user a month, paid yearly.
Can I move my Copilot Studio agents to TulipFarm?
Not automatically. Export the data each agent uses as CSV or XLSX, import it into a table, copy the instructions into a skill, and run both until you trust the result.
