TulipFarm vs UiPath: desktop robots or shared records

UiPath pairs robots with agents built in Studio Web and run in Orchestrator. TulipFarm gives a team records, agents and approvals without that setup.

Where TulipFarm differs

Four differences that matter when a small team runs the process itself, each with a note on UiPath.

  • Records, agents and approvals in one place

    TulipFarm

Tables, files, agents and workflows share one workspace. There are no robots or separate consoles to set up.

    See Workflows

    How UiPath handles it

Agents are built in Studio Web and run through Orchestrator, alongside apps, tasks and Maestro.

  • Approval without building an app first

    TulipFarm

On actions you pick, the agent shows the exact change, and a person approves or rejects it.

    See Agents

    How UiPath handles it

An agent escalation uses an Action app that you deploy to your tenant first, then routes it to a user or group.

  • Agents work in your Slack channels

    TulipFarm

Mention an agent in a Slack channel you grant it, and it replies there.

    See Integrations

    How UiPath handles it

Conversational agents in Slack work in direct messages through the Autopilot app. Channels and @mentions aren’t supported.

  • Your team edits the records agents use

    TulipFarm

People and agents work in the same tables, and field rules stop an incomplete row from saving.

Data Fabric, formerly Data Service, is persistent data storage for automation projects, with entities you model.

Switching from UiPath

TulipFarm can’t import UiPath processes, agents or robots. Move one team’s process at a time and keep UiPath for robot work.

  1. Pick a process that needs no robot

Choose one that works through apps and data rather than a desktop screen, such as invoice checks.

  2. Bring the records in

Export the entity or sheet it reads as CSV or XLSX, then import it into a TulipFarm table.

  3. Rebuild the agent and approvals

Paste the agent’s prompt into a skill, add the workflow steps, and mark the actions that need a person’s OK.

  4. Run both, then switch

Run both for one cycle and compare. Your first signup includes $50 in free credits.

Questions about TulipFarm and UiPath

Is TulipFarm a UiPath alternative?

Yes, for small teams whose processes run through apps and records rather than desktop screens. TulipFarm keeps tables, files, agents and workflows in one workspace. UiPath is an enterprise platform for robots, agents and business process orchestration.

What is the main difference between TulipFarm and UiPath?

UiPath splits the work across products: Studio to build, Orchestrator to run, Action Center for people and Data Fabric for data. TulipFarm keeps all of that in one workspace. On the actions you pick, an agent shows the exact change for a person to approve, with no separate app to build.

Can TulipFarm do everything UiPath can?

No. TulipFarm has no software robots, so it can’t operate desktop apps. It also lacks UiPath’s SAML SSO, SCIM, audit log export and supported on-premises hosting. TulipFarm is for teams that want records, agents and approvals without that setup.

When should I just use UiPath?

Choose UiPath if robots must work in desktop or legacy apps, if IT runs automation for the whole company, or if you need SSO, SCIM or on-premises hosting. It also fits if approvals must route to queues of people.

Do agents work in Slack channels?

Yes, in TulipFarm. Mention an agent in a Slack channel you grant it, and it replies there. UiPath conversational agents work in Slack through direct messages with its Autopilot app, and its docs say channels and @mentions aren’t supported.

Can I move my UiPath automations to TulipFarm?

Not automatically, and robot work should stay on UiPath. Move one app-based process at a time: import its data as CSV or XLSX, paste the agent’s prompt into a skill, rebuild the steps, and run both until you trust the result.

How much does TulipFarm cost compared with UiPath?

Your first TulipFarm Cloud signup includes $50 in free credits. Paid plans aren’t public yet; see the pricing page to ask for more credits or apply for student, NGO or startup support. UiPath has a free Community plan, Basic starts at $25 a month, and Standard and Enterprise prices come from sales.
