Where TulipFarm differs

Four differences that show up once a whole team shares the job, each with a note on how IFTTT handles it.

  • Orders live in a table the whole team uses

    TulipFarm

Built-in tables hold your records, and field rules stop a bad value before it saves.

    See Tables

    How IFTTT handles it

Applets keep their own variables in DataStore, capped at 16KB per account. Records stay in the apps you connect.

  • Confirming an order waits for a person’s OK

    TulipFarm

On actions you pick, the agent shows the exact change and holds it until someone approves.

    How IFTTT handles it

An Applet runs its actions as soon as its trigger fires, after any delay you add.

  • A workflow can wait days for a reply

    TulipFarm

A run waits up to 30 days for a person, then picks up where it stopped, even after a restart.

A Delay holds an action for 15 seconds to 3 hours.

Switching from IFTTT

TulipFarm can’t import Applets. Move one business job at a time and leave personal and smart home Applets on IFTTT.

  1. Pick one team job

Choose an Applet that handles work for the business, such as logging new orders to a sheet.

  2. Bring the records in

Export the sheet the Applet writes to as CSV or XLSX, then import it into a TulipFarm table.

  3. Rebuild the trigger and actions

Point the trigger at a TulipFarm webhook, add the steps to a workflow, and mark which ones need approval.

  4. Run both, then switch

Run both for a week and compare. Your first signup includes $50 in free credits.

Questions about TulipFarm and IFTTT

Is TulipFarm an IFTTT alternative?

Yes, for teams running business work rather than personal automations. TulipFarm keeps records in built-in tables, runs agents and workflows on them, and lets a person approve the exact change on the actions you choose. IFTTT links services, including smart home devices, with Applets.

What is the main difference between TulipFarm and IFTTT?

IFTTT runs a trigger and its actions across apps you connect, and your data stays in those apps. TulipFarm holds the data itself in shared tables with field rules, and its workflows can wait up to 30 days for a person. IFTTT’s delays run from 15 seconds to 3 hours.

Can TulipFarm do everything IFTTT can?

No. IFTTT connects 1,000+ services, including smart home devices, has iOS and Android apps, and offers an MCP server for AI assistants. TulipFarm connects to Slack, GitHub, Google, Jira, Confluence and Trello, and has no native mobile app or smart home connections.

When should I just use IFTTT?

Choose IFTTT for personal or smart home automations, for quick links between two apps, or when you want to manage automations from your phone. It’s also the cheaper choice if you only need a few Applets.

Can I move my IFTTT Applets to TulipFarm?

Not automatically. Rebuild one business Applet at a time: import the data it writes as CSV or XLSX, point its trigger at a TulipFarm webhook, and rebuild its actions as workflow steps. Run both until you trust the result.

How much does TulipFarm cost compared with IFTTT?

Your first TulipFarm Cloud signup includes $50 in free credits. Paid plans aren’t public yet; see the pricing page to ask for more credits or apply for student, NGO or startup support. IFTTT is free for 2 Applets. Pro is $2.99 a month billed yearly or $4.99 monthly, and Pro+ is $8.99 a month billed yearly or $14.99 monthly.

Can more than one person work in TulipFarm?

Yes. A TulipFarm workspace is shared: members work on the same projects, files, tables, agents and workflows, and admins can’t open members’ personal chats or private agent tasks. IFTTT’s site doesn’t describe a shared team workspace.
