Where TulipFarm differs from Coda

Four differences that show up when a stock and paper job runs through each tool, each with a note on how Coda handles it.

  • Tables the whole workspace shares

    TulipFarm

Tables sit in the workspace, not in a doc, and field rules reject a value before it saves.

    See Tables

    How Coda handles it

Tables live inside docs. Sharing a table across docs uses cross-doc tables, with cross-doc actions on Business.

  • Agents that check the stock on a schedule

    TulipFarm

A saved agent with a reusable skill runs up to once an hour and asks before the changes you pick.

Docs AI helps you write, build docs and automate tasks, with AI trackers, pages and views in beta on Pro.

  • Workflows that pause for a person

    TulipFarm

A run can wait up to 30 days for a person, run JavaScript or Python, and resume after a restart.

    See Workflows

    How Coda handles it

Automations run when a row changes, on a schedule, on a form or on a webhook, then edit rows, notify people or run Pack actions.

  • Each change in Google waits for approval

    TulipFarm

Each person connects their own Google account. Reading needs no approval; a change waits for an OK on the exact request.

    How Coda handles it

Packs connect docs to other apps. On Enterprise, admins can require approval before a Pack is used.

Switching from Coda

TulipFarm doesn’t import Coda docs. Keep the writing in Coda and move the table that has turned into a system of record.

  1. Pick the table everyone depends on

Choose the table that several docs copy or sync, such as stock, orders or prices.

  2. Export it as CSV

Export the table from Coda as CSV, then set up a TulipFarm table with the same fields and rules.

  3. Rebuild buttons and automations

Turn each automation into a workflow, and add a step that waits for a person to sign off.

  4. Run both, then switch

Run both for one cycle and compare the results. Your first signup includes $50 in free credits.

Questions about TulipFarm and Coda

Is TulipFarm a Coda alternative?

For business records, yes. TulipFarm keeps records in workspace tables with field rules, and agents and workflows update them with a person approving the changes you choose. For docs that mix writing, tables and formulas, Coda is the stronger tool.

Is Coda now called Superhuman Docs?

Yes. Coda’s help center says Coda became Superhuman Docs on July 8, 2026, joining Grammarly, Mail and Go in the Superhuman suite. Coda.io still uses the Coda name in places, and existing customers keep their plan unless they move to the Superhuman bundle.

What is the main difference between TulipFarm and Coda?

Coda is a doc that works like an app: tables, buttons, formulas and Packs live inside each doc. TulipFarm keeps tables in the workspace, where agents and workflows share them, and shows the exact change before it applies on the actions you pick.

Can TulipFarm do everything Coda can?

No. TulipFarm has no doc editor, formulas, buttons or forms like Coda’s, far fewer integrations than Coda’s 600+ Packs, and no SSO or SOC 2. It does have field rules, imports you review before they apply, and workflows that wait for a person and resume after a restart.

When should I just use Coda?

Stay with Coda if your team writes and tracks in the same doc, depends on Packs, has many people who only edit and don’t create docs, or needs SOC 2, SSO and audit logs today.

Can I move a Coda table to TulipFarm?

Yes. Export the table from Coda as CSV, create a TulipFarm table with matching fields and rules, and import the file. You review the proposed rows before they apply. Docs, formulas and buttons don’t carry over.

How much does TulipFarm cost compared with Coda?

Your first TulipFarm Cloud signup includes $50 in free credits. Paid plans aren’t public yet; see the pricing page to ask for more credits or apply for student, NGO or startup support. Coda has a free plan, and paid plans charge per Doc Maker; editors and viewers are free. Enterprise pricing is custom.
