Where TulipFarm differs from Trello

Four differences that show up in one delivery schedule, each with a note on how Trello handles it.

  • Agents that do the work, with your OK

    TulipFarm

A saved agent reschedules deliveries and shows Sam the exact change before it saves.

    See Agents

    How Trello handles it

Trello AI summarizes cards and comments and drafts boards from a goal; its plans don’t list agents.

  • Field rules that catch a bad date

    TulipFarm

Field rules reject bad values, and a bulk import waits for a person to review it before anything saves.

    See Tables

    How Trello handles it

Work lives on cards in lists, with custom fields from the Standard plan.

  • Workflows that wait weeks and survive restarts

    TulipFarm

A run can call a JavaScript or Python step, wait up to 30 days for a reply, and resume after a restart.

    How Trello handles it

No-code rules, buttons and commands run on every board, with monthly command-run limits by plan.

When to stay with Trello

Trello is the better choice if any of these sound like your team.

Your team wants simple drag-and-drop boards
Trello is quick to learn, with boards you drag cards across, templates, and Calendar, Timeline and Map views on Premium.
You want a free or low-cost plan
Trello is free for up to 10 collaborators, and Standard costs $5 a user a month, billed yearly.
You run on Atlassian or many Power-Ups
Trello connects to Jira, Slack and 200+ Power-Ups, and Atlassian Guard adds SSO and provisioning.
You work from your phone
Trello has iOS and Android apps, so the team can update cards on the go.

Switching from Trello

Agents can work on cards in a Trello board you connect, but TulipFarm can’t import boards or automation directly. Move one board at a time.

  1. Pick one board that holds records

Choose a board where each card is a record, such as deliveries or client orders.

  2. Export and import

Export the board as CSV (a Trello Premium feature), import it into a TulipFarm table, and add field rules to match its custom fields.

  3. Rebuild the automation

Rebuild the board’s rules as a workflow, and pick which agent actions need approval.

  4. Run both, then switch

Run both for one cycle and compare the results. Your first signup includes $50 in free credits.

Questions about TulipFarm and Trello

Is TulipFarm a Trello alternative?

Yes, for teams whose cards have become records that agents should work on, with field rules, shared files and workflows that wait for people. Trello is simpler for visual task boards, and free for small teams.

What is the main difference between TulipFarm and Trello?

Trello organizes work as cards on boards, automated by rules, buttons and commands. TulipFarm stores records in tables with field rules, lets agents change them with a person approving the exact change, and runs workflows that wait up to 30 days.

Does Trello have AI agents?

Trello’s pricing page lists AI that summarizes cards and comments and generates boards from a goal, but no agents. Its MCP server lets outside AI tools such as Claude work on your boards on Premium and Enterprise.

Can TulipFarm do everything Trello can?

No. Trello has drag-and-drop boards, Calendar, Timeline and Map views, templates, 200+ Power-Ups, mobile apps and SSO through Atlassian Guard. TulipFarm’s Board view is read-only, and it has a few built-in app connections, no mobile apps and no SSO.

When should I just use Trello?

Stay with Trello if your team wants simple drag-and-drop boards, a free or low-cost plan, mobile apps, or close ties to Jira and other Atlassian tools.

Does TulipFarm connect to Trello?

Yes. Connect a Trello account and pick a board. Agents can search and read its cards, and creating, updating or deleting a card waits for a person’s approval. They can’t reach boards you haven’t picked.

Can I move my Trello boards to TulipFarm?

Yes, one board at a time. Export the board as CSV, which needs Trello Premium, import it into a TulipFarm table, and add field rules to match its custom fields. Automation needs rebuilding as TulipFarm workflows.

How much does TulipFarm cost compared with Trello?

Your first TulipFarm Cloud signup includes $50 in free credits. Paid plans aren’t public yet; see the pricing page. Trello is free for up to 10 collaborators; Standard costs $5 and Premium $10 a user a month, billed yearly. Enterprise is $17.50 a user a month, billed yearly, for 50 or more seats with a $10k minimum spend.
