Where TulipFarm differs

Four differences that show up when a web order arrives, each with a note on how Pipedream handles it.

  • A workflow builder open to new teams

    TulipFarm

TulipFarm workflows have a visual builder, webhook triggers and JavaScript or Python steps.

    See Workflows

    How Pipedream handles it

Workflows is in maintenance mode, takes no new signups and shuts down on March 31, 2027.

  • A run can wait weeks for a person

    TulipFarm

A run waits up to 30 days for an approval, and a restart won’t redo finished steps.

    See Workflows

    How Pipedream handles it

A step can suspend a run until someone opens its resume link. It cancels after 24 hours unless you set a timeout.

  • Orders land in a table your team can read

    TulipFarm

Built-in tables hold your records, and field rules reject bad values before they save.

    How Pipedream handles it

Data stores are Pipedream’s built-in key-value store for keeping data between workflow runs.

When to stay with Pipedream

Pipedream is the better choice if any of these sound like your team.

You’re building your own AI product
Pipedream Connect handles auth and tools for 3,000+ APIs for the agents and apps you build, and it isn’t affected by the Workflows shutdown.
Your steps need Go, Bash or a browser
Until March 31, 2027, Pipedream workflows run Go and Bash steps and can drive a browser from Node.js.
You need SSO, SCIM or HIPAA today
Pipedream has SOC 2 Type 2 on every plan, and SSO, SCIM and HIPAA on Business.

Switching from Pipedream

TulipFarm can’t import Pipedream workflows. Pipedream deletes Workflows data by April 30, 2027, so export first, then move one job at a time.

  1. Export each project

Pipedream’s export tool saves every workflow in a project as JSON, with its triggers, steps and code.

  2. Bring the records in

Save the data your workflow keeps as CSV or XLSX, then import it into a TulipFarm table.

  3. Rebuild the steps

Recreate each trigger as a webhook or schedule, and port each code step to JavaScript or Python.

  4. Run both, then switch

Run both for a few cycles and compare results, well before March 31, 2027. Your first signup includes $50 in free credits.

Questions about TulipFarm and Pipedream

Is Pipedream Workflows shutting down?

Yes. Pipedream says Workflows and String shut down on March 31, 2027, and Workflows data is deleted by April 30, 2027. Workflows no longer accepts signups or subscriptions. Pipedream Connect isn’t affected.

Is TulipFarm a Pipedream alternative?

Yes, for teams moving off Pipedream Workflows. TulipFarm has a visual workflow builder with webhook triggers and JavaScript or Python steps, plus built-in tables, saved agents and approval of exact changes. It doesn’t replace Pipedream Connect for developers building their own agents.

What is the main difference between TulipFarm and Pipedream?

Pipedream is now an integration layer for developers: Connect gives the agents and apps you build tools for 3,000+ APIs. TulipFarm is a workspace where a team keeps records and files, and runs agents and workflows on them.

Can TulipFarm do everything Pipedream can?

No. Pipedream connects to far more APIs, runs Go and Bash steps, can drive a browser, and has SOC 2 Type 2, with SSO and SCIM on its Business plan. TulipFarm has built-in tables with field rules, runs that wait up to 30 days for a person, and saved agents.

When should I just use Pipedream?

Choose Pipedream Connect if you’re building your own AI product and need managed auth and tools for thousands of APIs. Its Workflows product is closing, so plan any workflow move before March 31, 2027.

Can I move my Pipedream workflows to TulipFarm?

Not automatically. Use Pipedream’s export tool to save each project’s workflows as JSON, then rebuild one job at a time: import its data into a TulipFarm table, recreate the trigger and port code steps to JavaScript or Python.

How much does TulipFarm cost compared with Pipedream?

Your first TulipFarm Cloud signup includes $50 in free credits. Paid plans aren’t public yet; see the pricing page to ask for more credits or apply for student, NGO or startup support. Pipedream Connect Startup costs $99 a month billed yearly, and Workflows takes no new subscriptions.

Does TulipFarm work with Slack and Google Workspace?

Yes. In Slack, people mention an agent in a channel you grant, and it replies there. Each person can also connect their own Google account for Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides. Reading needs no approval; any change in Google waits until a person approves the exact request.
